Pricing - A lot goes into the price and Hargrave Contractors aims to be transparent on costs. All items to be completed (scope of work) and the total price of the job are on every proposal. We cannot list costs for each individual line item. This is because taken alone each item would cost more than the total of the items put together. Overhead also figures into the total price. Our office is fully staffed and we are fully insured. Please see below some of the items that are taken into consideration when pricing jobs. Payment - The payment schedule is milestone-based. Typically there is a scheduling deposit ($500-$1,000) due at the signature of the contract, payment due upon delivery of materials, and payments due upon completion of demolition, drywall, etc. The payment schedule is in the contract, so no surprises for anyone. If a change order is necessary, the associated costs are due upon client approval. Again, this is done in writing via Buildertrend. The clients pay as the work progresses and everyone is happy!
Design Consultation: For major renovations, including changing the layout of a room, there will be a design consultation. The design consultation is an opportunity to see your home first hand and start the conceptual process. This is where we give our ideas, guidance, resources, and expertise to help you make decisions about the layout and use of your space. Consultation fees start at $250 for a small bath and go up to $750 for kitchens. The consultation fee is credited back towards the work is you wish to proceed with Hargrave Contractors.
